In search of immortality ? ......... or siphoned subsidies !!!

The insatiable quest of the Nehru Gandhi family to be immortal has played havoc with our nation. Not only have they etched their names and build their brand in almost all schemes of the Government, its buildings and institutions which should be actually national schemes....... Washington has no Barack Obama Road Transport nor has Shanghai a Deng Xiaoping University .....but they have destroyed the fabric of national productivity by giving false illusions of rights to the people without any duties.

In line with the thinking of the socialists of the Nehru Gandhi family UPS chief Sonia Gandhi said at the Parliament last week "It is one in a series of various rights promised and provided by UPA, like Right to Information, Right to Education, Right to Work and Right to Forest Produce," she said, adding: "The Food Security Bill is thus the fifth in a series of what might be called a right-based approach which provides legal entitlement to the people, puts pressure on the executive to be more responsive and accountable, and also puts in place a credible mechanism to redress grievances. This approach, I believe, will bring about an empowerment revolution in our country, something we are proud to have facilitated."

Really ? None of our learned parliamentarians or economists or editors of mainstream dailies or TV channels contradicted the false promise of a rights based approach to empowerment. Is democracy all about rights ? What of the duties? The misconception of Sonia Gandhi's hypothesis though not contradicted by sycophants in the press and the parliament was contradicted by the economic fundamentals that gave the biggest thumbs down. The CAD, the foreign debt, the Rupee went for a spin with a precipitous fall of the currency.....something that all the kings horses and all the kings men will not be able put back the .......unless we wake up to reality.

The reality is the right to work MNREGA should be changed to RIGHT TO PRODUCE ASSETS for the nation. It needs to be discontinued with immediate affect in its current form unless we are able to link it with rural asset building. It is alright to pay Rs 40,000 crores to Rs 60,000 crores ( approx $ 10 billion ) wages annually to the nameless rural poor provided we build roads, bridges, dams that are needed in rural India which lacks from extremely poor infrastructure. Else the taxpayers money should not be given away as a freebie in the name of the Nehru Gandhi family. A Bloomberg survey report of April 2013 finds that a third of the money doled out under MNREGA was misappropriated and pilfered.

The UPA chief Sonia Gandhi also admitted that there was pilferage and leakage in the Government disbursal schemes. Was 9 years at the power was not sufficient to plug the loopholes? The truth is that the intention was not to plug loopholes but to ensure larger streams of revenue be routed through the porus sieve of FCI, PDS and other disbursal agencies so that the party funds can increase ......but at what cost ........it is at the cost of the Rupee. The 3F s fuel , fertilizer and food subsidy has increased by four times during the last decade Global credit rating agency Moody's said last week that India's fuel subsidies may reach a whopping Rs. 1.3 lakh crore ( approx $20 billion ) in 2013-14, surpassing their earlier estimate that fuel subsidies would fall to Rs. 1 lakh crore. The fuel, food and fertilizer subsidies along with the MNREGA the food security act would probably exceed $ 80 billion this year and the budget deficit heavily dependent on accruals from non tax revenue would possibly be miss the target by a mile and settle well above 6 percent. In the current scenario with the existing disbursal agencies of subsidies and doles the leaked subsidies or the booty could be around as much as a quarter.... A whopping $ 20 billion which are the illegitimate perks of supposedly providing the rights and empowerment to the people.
